Pronouns: they/she

Hello and welcome!

I’m a white, queer, and non-binary/agender Kansas City-based therapist applying trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice approaches in my work with clients in Arizona, Kansas, and Missouri.

I have been intrigued by internal experience my whole life. Whether I was trying to understand animal behavior as a kid, or later in life when I studied political decision-making and philosophy, the subjective experience of everything from relationships to nature to spiritual experience has always been my area of interest.

Over time, I learned that tuning in to patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior can be a superpower, helping us catalyze insights into action that can change our lives.

  • Prior to becoming a therapist, I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for six years in Chicago. As an educator, I emphasized developmentally appropriate instruction, inquiry-based experiential learning, content integration, and a collaborative, safe, and positive classroom environment. I have conducted action research on integrating play with Common Core State Standards, supervised student teachers early in their careers, and served in multiple school leadership capacities.

In 2017 I completed my social work degree in Chicago and relocated to Phoenix, where I entered the community mental health field and worked primarily with children and families in from 2017-2020, focusing on transgender affirming therapy, trauma treatment, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). At that time, I was a founding clinical team member of a fully-adherent DBT program for adolescents.

During the pandemic, I transitioned into private practice and eventually opened my own practice, Three Mountains Therapy LLC. In 2021 I began my journey with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and have found this approach to align best with clients and my own internal experience, and continue to practice IFS as my main therapeutic approach to this day.

In 2024 I relocated to Kansas City where my practice is now based, serving residents in Arizona, Kansas, and Missouri.

In addition to working from an IFS perspective, I also integrate queer, trans, neurodivergent affirming, and attachment-based therapeutic approaches. I continue to use EMDR and DBT techniques to augment IFS parts work, depending on the needs and preferences of the person I am working with.

A current area of interest includes healing transgenerational trauma through ancestral/lineage work using the IFS approach to legacy unburdening, but also bringing in the rich inner and cultural resources of each individual. I continue to work to enrich my delivery of IFS with clients through further experiential trainings, professional and peer consultations, and working with my own internal system.

  • Outside of my professional life, I’m a nerd for most things, including all things mental health, and love to learn more about our beautiful and mind-blowing internal systems, whether that’s through a podcast on various issues like mind-gut health, boundaries, or boredom. I find it invigorating to delve into a new or familiar special interest, a few of which include birding and gardening right now. I’m also an avid story-chaser and enjoy reading and bingeing TV shows, losing myself in another world for a while. On weekends, I’m often at the archery range practicing olympic recurve archery, trying out a new recipe, relaxing with my dog Rocky, exploring new cycling paths, spending time with friends or family, or just enjoying much needed unstructured, down-time.
